Dear 6th Grade Jr. Lancers!!!!!

Welcome home to Mt. Pleasant Middle School! We’re thrilled to have you join our Jr. Lancer community. Our halls are buzzing with anticipation, and we can’t wait for you to walk through our doors, ready for adventure, discovery, and a whole lot of fun!

Know Before You Go

To make your first day smooth sailing, here’s what you need to know and bring.

Pack These Essentials

A fully charged Chromebook
A trusty pen or pencil (or both—mistakes happen!)
Lock from the lock distribution day for your locker.
Lunch, if you’re not planning to buy from the cafeteria.

Arrival Routine

Car riders & drop-offs: Parents & Guardians - please follow the directions of the traffic-control team for everyone’s safety as you navigate the drop-off traffic pattern. It is essential that you drop off and keep moving! Pull up to the front loop, your student should be prepared to exit the vehicle! Students will wait with classmates in the grassy area until 8:25 AM.
Bus riders: As soon as you step off the bus, catch up with Mr. Duffy and head to the auditorium. Students will sit and wait in the auditorium until 8:25 AM.

At 8:25 AM, you will move to join your team and Advisory teacher. Since you know your advisory teacher and team, this will be a cinch—our MPM staff will direct you straight to the right spot! If you forget your teacher or team, please see a staff member for help.

Your First Week at MPM

Mon., Aug. 31	A Day	Welcome to MPM! Begin with your Advisory Group! Get your locker, ID, lanyard, and schedule. Learn your way around the building and practice your daily routines by following an A-day schedule
Tues., Sept. 1	B Day	Begin your day in Advisory and attend a special presentation in the auditorium. With Mrs. O’Leary & Mrs. Ferraro! You will follow a B-day schedule and, in enrichment, learn about your planner, SMARTPASS, and reading expectations.
Wed., Sept. 2	A Day	Today, you will follow an A day schedule, and during enrichment, you will explore how to attend music lessons, GT, Makerspace, and Healthy Habits
Thurs., Sept. 3	B Day	Today, you will follow a B-day schedule and, during enrichment, learn about your Digital Driver’s License and technology expectations.
Fri., Sept. 4	A Day – Half Day	Today you will follow an A day (half-day) schedule and, during enrichment, learn about clubs and activities you can join at MPM!

Remember: School begins at 8:35 AM and ends at 3:23 PM on full days. Your schedule will tell you where you need to be each day. Don’t worry—we’ll help you learn your way around!

Tech & Cell-Phone Rules

Mt. Pleasant is a device-free campus except when your Chromebooks are needed for class. Your cell phone must be powered down prior to entering the building. No Chromebooks or devices, including Apple Watches, are permitted. Just keep them tucked away until after the final bell rings, and you exit the building.
